Ansel Adams Post

Ansel Adams grew up in a harsh environment, his family's fortune was crashed in 1907 due to the financial panic. On top of his families brutality towards Ansel because of their financial crisis, he had been thrown on the ground by the earthquake and fire of 1906 and because of this, his nose was broken and turned into an oddly shaped nose. His school life was also bad, he was diagnosed as hyperactive and there was stipulation that he suffered from dyslexia as well. All of his difficulty during school made him only achieve a "legitimizing diploma" which is basically the equivalent of graduating the eighth grade. He enjoyed nature very much and taught himself to read music and play piano, he began to take lessons after he had taught himself to play the piano and it soon became his occupation. Learning to play the piano helped shaped him as an artist in the photography world by teaching him the strict discipline of being a musician. He worked at the Sierra Club and soon met his wife, with whom he had two children. his first writings and works had appeared in the bulletin at the Sierra club in 1922 and he had his first man exhibition in 1928 at the club's San Francisco head quarters. Ansel created his first fully visualized photo in 1927.

I chose this photo because I love how the rays of light are in contrast with the darkness of the mountains.

Found Face Story

Oh, hey! My name is Geraldi. I was just on my way to the fire station! I need to get my yearly check-up done, they built me 57 years ago and I have been living on my own ever since without a family I was 17 years old. They needed help with their garden hose and so they built me for the job. I gave water to their hose and they watered their lawns. I served my purpose for the first ten years but then I began to grow a mind of my own. I started to notice birds flying over in certain patterns and I began to study the bugs around me more. I knew that I wouldn't be able to explore the world from their front yard so I started to ask to be let on my own. They told me no because they still needed my water from me, they had gotten used to using my water and it was a hard habit to break. Years past and they found a replacement water source, her name was Shanel, she was the new version of me and she soon became the pride and joy of the fire station. A week later I left with a huge smile on my face and it has been stuck there ever since. Hey can you keep a secret? I have a certain skill that absolutely nobody knows about, I have the ability to travel under ground in order to get to the places I want to go. I do this by tunneling into the ground no matter where I am and travel by tunnel the entire way, when I leave there is no evidence of my being there because the tunnel closes up seamlessly. I have been studying the plants and animals around the entire world with my gift and I give my discoveries to the local scientists, they give me money for it all and so that is my job, but whenever there is a fire near to me I lend a hand to the fire fighters by giving them some water to put the fire out with. My goal in life is to save lives and explore the plants and animals of the world and maybe someday, I'll travel around to see it all for myself.
